LCGA PULSE Graduate Summer Exhibition 2022

OPEN CALL for applications of interest

 

Limerick City Gallery of Art is delighted to announce the inaugural Open Call for PULSE – An LCGA Summer Exhibition specifically for recent Irish Arts Graduates and Emerging practitioners.

 

This exhibition will be held at LCGA in July-August 2022 and is open to those who have graduated between

2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021 from any recognised Fine Art discipline across the island of Ireland and includes graduated at any Fine Art BA, MA or PhD.   The objective is to support and highlight new work made by emerging creatives across Ireland, and to showcase this work in response to the limitations caused by the pandemic crisis.

 

Eligibility:

  • Artworks can be submitted in any Fine Art discipline or medium.

  • Artists and practitioners may submit completed or unfinished works. Please note that unfinished artwork must be completed for delivery to LCGA, no later than 22 June 2022.

  • Applications from collectives or collaborations are welcome.

 

Application:

  • Please complete the Online Application fully, indicating your contact details, links to online website or previous works, media files, dimensions and details of the artwork you wish to submit.

  • If you are having any technical difficulties with the Online Application form, or further queries please email artgallery@limerick.ie

 

Provisions:

  • Selected artists will receive an ‘artist fee’ for their participation in the exhibition.

  • A number of awards for commended artworks will be kindly sponsored by exhibition partners.

  • Artists will have their artworks promoted across LCGA online platforms and social medias for the duration of the exhibition.

  

Installation:

  • Installation will take place in July 2022. Applicants will be responsible to have their artwork(s) ready and delivered to LCGA in June 2022. Proposed artworks must be completed by this time.

  • Selections from the online applications will take place in two rounds after the deadline (May 5th) the panel includes external adjudicators Visual Artist Aideen Barry and Royal Hibernian Academy Director Patrick Murphy.

  • All applicant will be notified in early June 2022.

Exhibition:

  • The exhibition will take place at Limerick City Gallery of Art (LCGA) from 22nd July -12th September 2022

 

To apply, complete the online application form by 5pm Friday 5th May.

Late entries will not be accepted.

 

This exhibition will form part of LCGA’s larger summer exhibition programme. Selected artists maybe invited to participate in a series of interviews, in-conversations, talk panels or discussions or other promotional public engagement events, held both on and offline.
