Unwrapped: from the Permanent Collection

16th December 2021 - 13th February 2022

Limerick City Gallery of Art (LCGA) is delighted to present this selection of works acquired & gifted to the Permanent Collection in recent years.  The works on exhibit are mainly works by artists who have exhibited at LCGA during this time.  However, they also include a number of works, which have been generously donated to the collection by some artists.  This exhibition features plenty of high quality work by Limerick, national and International artists which will surely delight all our visitors.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is a work by Thomas Ryan PPRHA titled The Shannon at Limerick, Sarsfield Bridge, (1967). The Friends of the National Collections of Ireland (FNCI) donated this significant painting to the Permanent Collection in memory of Thomas Ryan PPRHA who died recently.  LCGA is grateful for this donation to the Permanent Collection by this august group who support the acquisitions of work for National Collections throughout Ireland.

Artists featured:  Thomas Brezing, Jamie Burke, Mary Burke, Michael Canning,  Naomi Draper, Gabhann Dunne, Mark Garry, Dana Gentile, Helena Gorey, Martin Healy, Vera Klute, Sinead McKillican, Mary Nagle, Melanie O’Rourke, Tom Prendergast, Robert Ryan, Tomas Ryan PPRHA, Mary Swanzy, Maighread Tobin, Mary-Ruth Walsh.

We hope you enjoy the exhibitions
