These artists were invited to submit new work that Director, Úna McCarthy says is “sure to delight and surprise. On returning to Limerick I was thrilled to reacquaint myself with artists whose work I had known in the 80s and then to return to discover a whole new generation of artists with whom I am just getting acquainted with. It is really interesting to see the trajectory of work by artists – how it has changed over the years – and still it bears the confident and unique mark of the individual artist. The work of a younger generation of artist is of special interest as it demonstrates their commitment and engagement to painting and print-making”.
Visions of Now will demonstrate the array of styles, vivid imagination and technical prowess that is such strength with this group of artists. The exhibition will continue until 15th January 2016.

The fourth and final part of the generational span includes the first LCGA/LSAD show by sculptor Emma McNamara who was offered an opportunity to present her graduation work in LCGA.
“The opportunity to work with Limerick School of Art and Design is considered vital to the ongoing conversation that LCGA has with the next generation of artists. Emma was selected for this award as her sense of commitment to being an artist was palpable from this piece” concludes McCarthy.
